Why the name Lychee?

Travel has always been my biggest passion, aside from my family of course. I love exploring new places, especially experiencing their food and culture. Out of all of the countries I’ve visited, the ones that captured my heart the most are in South East Asia, because of their scenery and architecture, along with their vibrant colours, smells and sounds - they just feel exotic!.

Whenever I go to a SE Asian country, the first thing I look for on a menu is Lychee’s. Whether it’s Lychee Iced Tea, a Lychee Margarita, or Lychee Ice Cream - Lychee’s are my absolute fave!

In September last year I was lucky enough to go on a sourcing trip in Bali with an incredible group of beautiful, like-minded women from Australia and New Zealand. Our days were jam-packed with scouring amazing homeware stores and galleries, meeting with suppliers, oh and the odd massage! We had the best time - eating incredible food, talking, learning from each other and laughing until our tummies hurt! It was at one of our lunches, with a Lychee Martini in hand, that the name for my new venture was decided!

Although my little business is not lychee or even food related, they evoke a lot of happy memories and feelings for me, so Lychee it is! Cheers everyone!
